About Us:
Thank you for visiting Kino Baseball League’s Umpire Association (KBLUA) website. We are dedicated to providing officiating services for Southern Arizona area youth baseball and recreational leagues. The Kino Baseball League was founded in 2010 and is registered as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization.
All of our baseball umpires are independent contractors. We encourage our umpires to belong to other associations and leagues as well. It simply makes for better umpires overall, as we share our experience.
For a small annual fee and competency determination, KBLUA members can virtually get an unlimited number of game assignments, as well as receive ongoing training and assistance.
KBLUA believes officiating a baseball game is more than just calling balls and strikes, safe and outs, catch and no catch, fair or foul……..
We believe that this is a working relationship between the umpires, the managers, the coaches, the players, the fans, and the leagues we umpire baseball games for.
We follow a code that consists of Amicable, Approachable, Courteous and Professional at all times.
We believe, to be an effective umpire, you must possess a love and passion of the game, sound rules knowledge and how to apply and interpret the rules to insure each game is played fair.
We understand spirit of play, and follow and enforce the safety rules of the leagues we work for to insure everyone who plays stays safe.
Kino Baseball League Umpire Association ( KBLUA ) believes every player, coach, parent, and venue deserves the very best in sports officiating.
We take the time to train our umpires about the rules, mechanics, safety, philosophy, attitude, and instill in them confidence when taking the field and calling a great game.
KBLUA services are provided for baseball leagues from 9U to 25u (Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, American Legion, Sun Belt Collegiate, and Little League). We are proud of our reputation to provide quality officials through ongoing training and access to rules online.
Our KBLUA training officials have many years of experience and provide ongoing training and support for our umpires including: classroom instruction, field instruction, and on-going evaluation/instruction.
Our focus is on the youth we serve. and community awareness and strive to be a mentor to all the youth we come in contact with on or off the field.
